  • Review basic staff notation
    • What is: staff, treble clef, 7 letters of music alphabet, line and space notes, whole note/rest, quarter note rest

Flutes

What we did
  • Establishing good embouchure, air stream to produce an acceptable tone quality
  • Mouthpiece sounds; sustained sound for a whole note/rest rhythm
  • Assemble flute; establish hand position; sustained sound for a whole note/rest rhythm on open flute
  • Fingering for Bb; whole note/rest rhythm (line 1 on page 6 of book)

  • Good consistent sound on Bb (whole note, whole rest pattern)
